Self-Driving Tech in Ford Models

Now that we’re well into in 2019, self-driving technologies are becoming more and more prevalent. While mainstream vehicles do not yet drive themselves, new Ford vehicles have a slew of different self-driving technologies that help make things easier for drivers. Here are some of the advanced self-driving features that you’ll find on 2019 Ford vehicles

BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert

BLIS® is a features that helps you change lane safely while driving on a busy freeway. It automatically detects and alerts you to vehicles in your blind spot, while Cross-Traffic Alert detects traffic behind you while you’re slowly backing out of a parking spot or driveway. With this feature, you will no longer need to ask your passenger if it is safe to change lanes.

Lane-Keeping System

A fact of driving is that sometimes you’re going to wander a bit too far to the edge of your lane. Luckily, the Lane-Keeping System, found in vehicles like the 2019 Ford Fusion, helps you stay in your lane, even in moments of distraction. The automated system will scan your vehicle’s position between the lines in the road ahead and will alert you if you’ve begun to stray from your lane.

Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking

Sometimes other people’s lack of attention while driving creates unwanted collision risk. The Ford Pre-Collision Assist scans the road ahead of you, alerting you to potential collisions with vehicles or pedestrians detected in your path. If the system detects that a collision is imminent, the brakes will be applied automatically.
